As a military-trained general orthopedic surgeon, Sean P. Kearney, MD, offers a broad skillset in treating all musculoskeletal disorders including fractures, work and sports injuries, and degenerative joint conditions. At Cascade Orthopedics, with offices in Auburn and Bonney Lake, Washington, he takes a patient-centered approach, offering various advanced surgical and non-surgical options to treat patients.
Originally from Connecticut, Dr. Kearney grew up in New England with a passion for an active outdoor lifestyle, even competing as a ski racer on the Junior Olympic level through college.
After completing medical school at the University of Connecticut, Dr. Kearney completed his orthopedic surgery residency locally at Madigan Army Medical Center in Tacoma, Washington. During this time, he developed a deep appreciation and connection to the people and places of the Pacific Northwest.
Dr. Kearney served 16 years on active duty as an orthopedic surgeon, spending most of his career at Fort Bragg, North Carolina. While there, he treated the soldiers and families of the 82nd Airborne Division and Special Operations Forces. He completed three combat deployments, proudly caring for the United States and Allied Service members fighting overseas.
He's published numerous orthopedic research works and delivers national presentations on orthopedic conditions. He is a member of several national and regional orthopedic societies and regularly mentors residents.

Dr. Kearney is married with three young children who appreciate being outdoors seeking adventure. They particularly enjoy skiing, biking, camping, surfing, and eating seafood!
